Quinta da Aveleda Cheese
A huge cattle shed exists at Quinta da Aveleda since the 19th Century. The production of milk is limited and it is obtained thanks to the work of small portions and with great manufacture work. This permits an important control of the product and special attention from the staff aiming the best standard of quality in the final product.
As in old times, cheese is a very important part of our Mediterranean diet and we produce it using the same methods as our grandparents.
Since 1987, we produce two types of cheese:
The soft cheese - Quinta da Aveleda Amanteigado
The semi-hard cheese - Quinta da Aveleda Curado
The differences between both are the time of cure and the specific taste and texture.
